Monthly Maintenance Fees
FYI:
I just received my statement for the January fees and was surprised to see it did not reflect the amounts given at the Homeowners meeting. I made a call to Sammy and received the following information.
VLE is a Mexican Resort that use the Mexican Peso as its official currency. In my case as a fractional owner with the basic services for a 2 bedroom, the monthly fee is 27,731 pesos. The Resort will use the current exchange rate at the invoice time to calculate the USD price. On this billing it was approx $150 more than the rate sheet given to me at the meeting. The exchange rate as of 1/18/06 is one peso is 0.0946477 cents.
27,731.00 MXNMexico Pesos = 2,624.96 USD. The cost was supposed to be $2476 but that was calculated late Nov or early Dec for the meeting.
The Xmas Bonus Fund is $100 per Villa per year, which would be $25 my share. The billing amount showed $50. Check your invoices for mistakes.
I have a copy of the official peso maintenance fees for all the different Villa configurations. If anyone needs to know what your bill is based on email me at kcoppin@socal.rr.com and I will pass it on.

I'm not sure about Barry's question, but I have a comment on Kevin's post.
I keep an eye on exchange rates, and on Nov. 23 the rate was 1 peso = .0942241 dollars. At a fee of 27731 pesos, that computes to $2612.93, which is different from the $2476 apparently presented at the meeting. Can anyone who attended the meeting look to see at least whether the line items are the same? Or, I could check my copy of the minutes, if I could just find them.......
Also thanks for the tip about the error in the Christmas fund. Kevin, your earlier post had mentioned that the fund was set at $100 per villa per year, I overlooked it.

did anyone notice the association fees are actually higher than the amount that was stated at the owners meeting. there is no explanation why. VLE is a dictatorship. they treat us like time share owners. do what they want and we can do nothing. perhaps people may feel like it is a small amount of money, but it will never end and soon we will say how did this happen. it is time for a revolution.
