Provisions for renters at Villa La Estancia

Let me pose a question to VLE owners. I hope it is at least a little bit provocative.

What sort of services and amenities do you provide to your renters, specifically those you find yourself and are NOT provided by the resort? For example, do you provide daily housekeeping, as if your renters were in a hotel?

When I make reservations for a renter, I introduce them to the resort as "my friends," and I expect them to extend the same courtesies to them as they do to me. I expect the resort to give my renters a gold card, and I expect my renters to get preferential seating at the pool, etc. Essentially, I take the position that it shouldn't make any difference to the resort whether they are renters or not.

Am I out of line? I'd appreciate some feedback on this.

Comments:
If the actual owner gets preferential seating at the pool (which is the # 1 priority) and those who rent directly from the owner, or those who rent thru Villa La Estancia or those who rent thru some third party rental service also gets preferetial seating at the pool (etc.), then everyone gets preferential seating at the pool.

What this means is that no one gets it. Preferential services (pool seating etc.) are by definition services provided to a select few (the actual owner and those guests staying with the actual owner at the same time) not to everyone as is suggested.

Both of these comments make a lot of sense. I might even come to where I agree with them, I just haven't made up my mind yet. It does seem to me that if my daughter goes there with friends, for example, she should get the same consideration that I do. Why not a renter as well?

If everybody did it the way I suggested, then who would NOT get preferential seating? Those who rent from the resort. I expect that, as time goes by, there are likely to be fewer and fewer of those.

I've thought about this for a few hours since my last comment, and I guess the point I would like to make is that someday, in the not too distant future, we homeowners are going to have to start making these decisions. Alternatively, we will have to have resort management to whom we are willing to delegate such decisions.

For any decision we want to make, we will need a process for doing so, and we currently don't have that. If we want to do something other than what the resort management does, we will have to tell them...
